Common questions

Why does a spot show a low score when the weather looks fine?

The score is not a weather summary. It weighs swell, wind direction relative to the site, recent rainfall — which clouds the water long after the rain stops — tide and the visibility those imply for that particular spot. A calm, sunny day two days after heavy rain can score poorly for exactly the right reason.

Can other people see my spots?

No, unless you deliberately make a spot public. Private spots, dives, catches and photos are visible only to your account, and the server enforces that on every request. See the Privacy Policy.

Does it work without a signal?

Yes. Spots and your dive log live on the device, so the app opens and records dives on a boat with no reception. It syncs when you are back in coverage; a dive saved offline is not lost.

Location is denied — is the app still usable?

Yes, with less convenience. It cannot sort spots by distance from you or pre-fill where a dive happened. You can still browse the map and record dives.

How do I delete my account?

Profile → Delete account, in the app. It is immediate and permanent. Full detail on the account deletion page.

Reporting a safety concern

If the app ever shows conditions that contradict what you found in the water, tell us. The scoring is deterministic, so a wrong answer is reproducible and worth chasing. It also remains true that no forecast can be trusted over your own eyes at the shoreline — see the Terms.
